Here's the latest from The Johnny Nocturne Band:
- - KPLU airplay creates regional hit for Nocturne Band
- For over a year KPLU in Tacoma has been playing the Johnny Nocturne Bands "Blues Volume" CD. In particular, "There Is Something On Your Mind" an instrumental track that features just John's tenor accompanied by bass and guitar only. So smooth that one critic accused us of selling out to the smooth jazz industry! I wish! Everytime KPLU spins the track we have a spike in our mail orders. Thanks KPLU!
- - Nocturne Band 11th trip to the Umbria Jazz Festival
- July 2005 the Nocturne Band is scheduled to make it's 11th appearance at the prestigious Umbria Jazz Festival in Perugia, Italy. We love Italy and this is a great music festival.
- - New CD "Good to the Damn Bone"
- The Nocturne Band's 6th CD has just been released in Jan'05. "Good to the Damn Bone" is special in that it features all three of the bands different vocalists from over the years; Brenda Boykin, Kim Nalley and Ms.Dee. The title track is a gritty instrumental with Henry Salvia featured on Hammond B-3 organ for the first time with the band.
- - Little Charlie and the Night Cats
- John was once again priveliged to join Little Charlie as a featured guest on their up coming Alligator CD
